In recent years, I’ve become more mindful of the ingredients in the products I use. We’re familiar with the harmful ingredients in many of our household products, but do you know about the harmful ingredients in many beauty products? Many of the harmful ingredients include harsh sulfates, formaldehyde-releasers, artificial fragrances, mineral oil, and more.
Beautycounter is on a mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone and I’m excited to be making a clean swap with some of my most frequently used beauty products! I’m swapping my products for the Flawless in Five set. Not only am I excited to have cleaner products in my daily beauty regimen, but I love this set for most days where I don’t want to put on a full face of makeup.
The Flawless in Five set includes six beauty products, and you get to customize the set to your skin tone.
Step One: Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation or Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer
I wanted something I could use daily, so I opted for the Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer in shade 3. In summer months, I would opt for shade 4 since I tend to have a bit more of a tan.
Step Two: Touchup Skin Concealer Pen
I chose the light shade, however, for summer months I’d also opt for medium 1, a slightly darker shade.
Step Three: Color Define Brow Pencil or Brilliant Brow Gel
I’m all for brow gels, especially since they help keep my brows in place. I have naturally very dark brown eyebrows, so I went for the dark shade.
Step Four: Volumizing or Lengthening Mascara
Both products are available in black. I went with the volumizing mascara since I already have naturally long lashes, and love to add drama and volume, even with my daily look.
Step Five: Satin Powder Blush
I had such a hard time choosing a blush! Every single color was so bright and pretty. I went with the Nectar color, which reminded me of a good peach/pink blush. If you’re looking for a clean version of one of the most common blushes on the market (most beauty fans will probably know what blush I’m referring to) then Nectar is your color!
Step Six: Lip Gloss
Just like the blushes, there were so many good colors to choose from. I wanted something that was a bit lighter of a peach/pink shade, and that would be good to wear daily, so I went with the Blush Shimmer, which is one of their newer shades.
Having a hard time choosing colors? Beautycounter also makes it easy. Based on the color you choose in step one (foundation or tinted moisturizer) their site automatically provides recommendations.
When I move in a few weeks, I’ll focus more on switching my household products, but for now, I’m excited to swap my beauty products for better beauty.
Thank you to Beautycounter for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
